J.O.Y.C.E 2012 | Urban Arts Circle | Sesi temubual bersama Aur dan Arah -Wujud

WUJUD sebagai akronim program ini bemaksud adanya pengkarya seni diluar sana yang harus diketengahkan bakat yang terpendam juga mereka dapat mengekspresikan pelbagai karya kepada umum. Kehadiran mereka secara langsung memeriahkan industri kreatif selaras dengan matlamat kerajaan dalam Dasar Industri Kreatif Negara DIKN2010. Juga harus dingat karya seni visual mempunyai nilai komersial yang tinggi, bukan setakat menconteng kanvas atau membuat arca sahaja, karya yang dihasilkan ada jalan ceritanya. Fitrah manusia inginkan kecantikan& keindahan, maka dengan itu mereka WUJUD dengan memanifestasikan kecantikan & keindahan melalui seni visual dan arca.

RZL : Siapakah yang terlibat di belakang pameran WUJUD ini? Bagaimana idea pameran ini tercetus?

AUR : Bermula dengan pertemuan bersama En Neil Shah (Pengasas bersama Rampo Haus) Kami menimbang dan menganalisa dasar industri kreatif khususnya seni visual di Johor Bahru. Ramai pengkarya-pengkarya yang hebat berasal dari Johor, Mereka telah mencipta nama namun begitu terpaksa berhijrah ke Kota besar untuk mencipta kejayaan. Lalu timbul persoalan mengapa tidak di Johor? Disitu lah bermula idea Wujud tercetus. Bukan sekadar pameran malah sebagai perniagaan hasil karya kami .

RZL : Sudah berapa lama berada di dalam industri secara serius?

ARAH : Saya telah mula aktif sejak tahun 2003

AUR : Penghujung tahun 2005

Neil Shah : Bergerak di bawah nama RAMPO HAUS sejak 2009

RZL : Influence serta dorongan?

AUR : Daripada pelukis veteran Johor Bahru Ismail Attan. Kami peluang – peluang dan ruang dalam industri ini.

ARAH : Influence serta dorongan adalah daripada pengalaman diri aku sendiri, tanpa terikat dengan mana- mana aliran seni. Kebebasan aku untuk berkarya lebih luas.

RZL : Apakah Konsep / Tema pameran visual WUJUD ?

AUR : WUJUD lebih kepada pengenalan pengkarya, disini pengunjung berpeluang mendekati serta memahami dengan lebih dekat hasil karya kami serta perjalanan kami di dalam memperjuangkan seni kami di Johor Bahru.

RZL : Matlamat kini untuk masa mendatang ?

AUR : Matlamat utama WUJUD ini adalah untuk pendedahan kepada masyarakat bahawa kami WUJUD di Johor. Untuk Jangkamasa panjang kami berharap dengan usaha kami ini dapat menjadi pencetus kepada pertumbuhan aktivis seni yang lain bagi sama – sama memeriahkan industri kreatif Johor Bahru.

RZL : J.O.Y.C.E 2012 ? Penglibatan serta Aktiviti yang akan dijalankan.

AUR : JOYCE adalah platform serta ruang untuk belia dan peluang bagi semua khususnya belia di Johor Bahru.

Di sana kami akan mengadakan bengkel seni visual serta demonstrasi secara langsung dapat memberi peluang kepada masyarakat mendalami industri ini. Bagi yang beerminat kami akan mengadakan kelas jangka masa pendek tentang bagaimana seni visual ini di hasilkan.

This is a major project in experimental sounds. They are the kids from Johor Bahru. Check out their interview.

RZL : The main idea of Projek Bunyi.

IKHRAM : Projek Bunyi (PB) is presenting our upmost spontaneous ideas of beat n sound. PB is not only focused on specific genre but it goes on everything. This project will be our major fundamental in exploring sounds.

RZL : How it began? Full details on the lineups

IKHRAM : Sometimes you just have an idea—you’re working on something and it strikes you, “Hang on, why don’t we take that bit and do something completely different?” It’s like a puzzle you’re trying to work out—you know there’s something good in this idea, but it’s not communicating. You’re drawn back to those things, and when you come into the studio, the songs you load up on your computer are the ones that have that quality to them.

IKHRAM : Right now we’re not concerned with which level it’s going to be. We’re really concerned with making an incredible songs. To basically solidify our passion, and our legacy for the next genY.

RZL : Projek Bunyik is one of the main program for JOYCE. A lil details on what you guys goin to deliver?

IKHRAM as J.O.Y.C.E is for the youth, hopefully they (youth) can afford something from what we deliver on that day.The new installment in music session .have fun!

RZL : And what is it that has kept This project bunyi together?

IKHRAM : music, soul spirit & of course! FRIENDSHIP among others.

J.O.Y.C.E 2012 | Urban Art Circle | Introducing Mr Muhammad Syahman!

An interview session with J.O.Y.C.E creative director Mr Muhammad Syahman, a talented Malaysian Digital Artist.

He also a founder of Graphcore Collective and Radea Concept.

We asked about how he got into design, what inspires his and how he feels about having his design promoted across the nation. Check out the interview.

RZL : How did you get into illustration and design?

Syahman : I started my way into design since my school days, back then i was into animation, it was form 2 i guess. I started designing animation and stuff, doing montages for school’s event and it even got better during my form 4 whereas ive been appointed as the school mag editor and graphic designer. And that was 2006 and i started my way into designing stuff. And later in few years, i work my way into digital art, and motion graphics so as developing new style.

RZL : How about in terms of technical education?
Syahman : Technical education? oh, well im a self taught person. I learn from the internets, books, and the nature itself. Tutorials are over the internet, and widely spread, i digged some of the techniques, and i always did that ‘try and error’ method and fortunately it works for me. As for colleges, been to Unisel Shah Alam, and UiTM Pulau Pinang.
RZL :What are you working on at the moment?
Syahman : I am working on these few identities for J.O.Y.C.E event and pre-events, and some installation including visual projection. I am also on my Graphcore Collective project, gathering works from Creative Malaysian to be merge in an artpack. (www.graphcore.net)
RZL :What’s your style?
Syahman : My style? Mainly its Abstract 3D, and some Illustration and mostly based from these elements; geometricals (triangles for sure), lines, patterns, 3 Dimensional stuffs, and light effects.
RZL : Do you tend to stick to the same style when you’re designing, or do you mix it up?
Syahman : Sometimes i will stick to my root, my identity, and combine it with the new design im making so as making it more interesting. So that people can recognise my style, and my identity.Yeah im mixing it all over to create new and fresh stuff.
RZL : Where do you get your inspiration from?
Syahman : Everything that i saw, nature , magazine, inspiration gallery, and as for webs, behance, deviantart, abduzeedo, vimeo, and more
RZL : What does J.O.Y.C.E 2012 means to you as a Creative director?
Syahman : J.O.Y.C.E is a Youth Festival, which introduces and as a platform for young and creative malaysian talents, from various area and discipline of art so as exposing youth contributions to the community. Varies from music to heritage art, J.O.Y.C.E is a great benchmark event and should be taken seriously by the communities, cause youth is the one who will be the leader in the future.
I`m Youth – We Own Our Future

Syahman : Future planning including, exposing and getting Malaysian youth and creatives to the international level and at the same time, contributing to the community and society
